On Saturday, August 23rd SportXcel Coaches and Clients headed to Mt. Bierstadt to put our training to the test. All 21 people in the group reached the summit and 12 people in the group reached the top of a 14er for the 1st time! Conditions during the hike were challenging for all. The elevation, cold temperatures, rain, and hail challenged everyone both physically and mentally. Everyone in the group was able to persevere and work through the uncomfortable situation to reach the goal, the summit of Mount Bierstadt. At 14,060 ft above sea level oxygen levels are low and it’s unpredictable as to how each person would respond. Fortunately everyone has been working very hard in the gym this summer and everyone made it to the top unfazed! After the hike we celebrated with a potluck and began planning our next adventure! We look forward to getting out and experiencing more of Colorado with all members of SportXcel in the future!
